Lancashire Saw came to PMIT as their website was not functioning as required therefore an update was needed in order to refresh it and bring it up to modern usability standards.
Lancashire Saw needed PMIT to take over hosting of the site and replace it with a redesigned modern responsive site which is navigable on web, tablet and mobile devices. The new site needed to have standard e-commerce functionality with the ability to maintain a large range of products via updates from product and pricing information stored within Pegasus Opera.
The content was reused from the original site but product images were replaced with a selection of new photographs at higher resolution. The homepage was given a user friendly interface in order to make it easy to navigate.
Due to our experience with web development and accounting software, PMIT enabled the product list on the website to be populated from information exported from Opera. This enables constant stock monitoring for the business and less manual input in order to add products to the website which leaves more time free to run the business.
We set Lancashire Saw up with a nopCommerce site to handle the shopping functionality and set up an appropriate payment gateway. PMIT also created a module to handle web customer registrations, that processes orders received and order notifications emailed to the office.
Bespoke fields have been introduced into Opera’s stock table to control the Product categories

As well as product categorisation, the bespoke work allows for products to be marked as for the website, images to be used for products, product status and web discount to calculate the price.
